The first control in the panel is a menu with the name of the current output device. Click it to see every output your Mac offers: built-in speakers, headphones, Bluetooth devices, displays and any audio interface. Pick one and macOS switches to it immediately.
Il primo controllo del pannello è un menu con il nome del dispositivo di uscita attuale. Cliccalo per vedere tutte le uscite offerte dal Mac: altoparlanti integrati, cuffie, dispositivi Bluetooth, monitor e interfacce audio. Sceglierne una fa passare subito macOS a quella.
This changes the output for the whole Mac, exactly as if you had chosen it in System Settings. If macOS refuses the change, Mixbar shows a short message at the bottom of the panel.
Questo cambia l’uscita per tutto il Mac, esattamente come se l’avessi scelta nelle Impostazioni di Sistema. Se macOS rifiuta il cambio, Mixbar mostra un breve messaggio in fondo al pannello.
Use the overall volumeUsare il volume generale
Below the menu there is a slider with a speaker icon. It sets the volume of the selected output, the same one the volume keys on your keyboard change. Click the speaker icon to mute the whole output and click it again to restore it.
Sotto il menu c’è un cursore con un’icona di altoparlante. Imposta il volume dell’uscita selezionata, lo stesso che cambiano i tasti del volume della tastiera. Clicca l’icona dell’altoparlante per silenziare tutta l’uscita e cliccala di nuovo per ripristinarla.
The icon in the menu bar follows this state: it changes when the output is muted or at zero.

Devices that control their own volumeDispositivi che regolano da sé il volume
Some outputs, such as many external monitors and some audio interfaces, do not let macOS change their volume. They have their own buttons or knob. For these, Mixbar disables the overall slider and shows a note explaining it.
Alcune uscite, come molti monitor esterni e certe interfacce audio, non lasciano che macOS ne cambi il volume. Hanno i propri tasti o una manopola. Per queste Mixbar disattiva il cursore generale e mostra una nota che lo spiega.
The volumes of individual apps still work on these devices. Use the device’s own controls for the overall level and Mixbar for the balance between apps.
I volumi delle singole app funzionano comunque su questi dispositivi. Usa i comandi del dispositivo per il livello generale e Mixbar per l’equilibrio tra le app.

The overall volume is the ceiling. Each app’s slider then lowers that app relative to it. An app set to 50 percent plays at half of what it would play at with the overall volume where it is now.

An app’s slider never raises it above its normal level. To make everything louder, raise the overall volume.
