Start with the symptom you see. Most problems come down to the permission or to the app not making sound yet.

  1. Check that the panel does not show Permission needed. If it does, press Grant access.Controlla che il pannello non mostri Serve un permesso. Se lo mostra, premi Concedi accesso.
  2. Open System Settings, Privacy & Security, Screen & System Audio Recording, and make sure Mixbar is switched on in the system audio list.Apri le Impostazioni di Sistema, Privacy e sicurezza, Registrazione schermo e audio di sistema, e assicurati che Mixbar sia attiva nell’elenco dell’audio di sistema.

  • Start playing something in that app. Apps that are making sound always appear.Fai partire qualcosa in quell’app. Le app che emettono suono compaiono sempre.
  • Make sure Show silent apps too is ticked in the menu at the bottom right of the panel. With it off, only apps making sound are shown.Controlla che Mostra anche le app in silenzio sia spuntata nel menu in basso a destra del pannello. Se è spenta, compaiono solo le app che emettono suono.
  • Mixbar lists regular apps. Background helpers are grouped under the app they belong to, so a browser appears once, not once per tab.Mixbar elenca le app normali. I cannot see Mixbar in the menu barNon vedo Mixbar nella barra dei menu

Mixbar has no Dock icon and no window, so the menu bar is the only place it appears. If the bar is crowded, macOS hides the items that do not fit, especially on Macs with a notch.

Mixbar non ha icona nel Dock né finestre, quindi la barra dei menu è l’unico posto in cui compare. Se la barra è affollata, macOS nasconde gli elementi che non ci stanno, soprattutto sui Mac con notch.

  • Quit a few other menu bar apps and see whether Mixbar appears.Chiudi qualche altra app della barra dei menu e vedi se Mixbar compare.
  • Hold Command and drag icons to reorder them or to remove the ones you do not need.Tieni premuto Comando e trascina le icone per riordinarle o per togliere quelle che non ti servono.

Your current output controls its own volume, as many monitors and some audio interfaces do. This is normal. Use the device’s own buttons for the overall level. The sliders for individual apps keep working.

When Mixbar quits, every app returns to its own volume, which is the volume you would have without Mixbar. If an app seems louder, that is its normal level, not the one you had set in Mixbar. Open Mixbar again to get your levels back.

Quando Mixbar si chiude, ogni app torna al proprio volume, cioè quello che avresti senza Mixbar. Se un’app sembra più forte, quello è il suo livello normale, non quello che avevi impostato in Mixbar. Riapri Mixbar per riavere i tuoi livelli.
